Meet Alex

Drymen Beer Shop is owned and managed by Alex Hay, who grew up at Milton of Buchanan, near Drymen, where his father was the minister.

Alex has worked in some prestigious bars and restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh for many years, including Rogano, but switched to retail for his passion and knowledge of craft beer and spirits.

Alex and partner Morag live in Kippen and seized the opportunity to lease the shop opposite the War Memorial in Drymen, opening just before Christmas 2022.
